Hi Cheryl,

Yes, there are numerous home-based positions for nurses with reputable companies.

One of the best ways to search is to try searching the major job board sites like Career Builder and Monster using these key phrases, “work at home”, “work from home”, “home based”, “virtual”, “remote”, “telework” and “telecommuting”.

I have also found that Humana, Atena, McKesson and Fonemed all regularly hire home-based nurses, so try looking at their job postings on their specific sites.

Last, I would check out FlexJobs. They are an online job board that posts legit flexible jobs and because they screen all of the jobs before posting you can rest assured that you’re dealing with reputable companies. Flex Jobs cost $14.95 a month or $49.95 a year for membership and for the time that it is going to save you on research it is well worth the money spent.

Good luck with your search,
Holly

I'm not surprised when I see mumpreneurs (as we spell it in Australia) in action. Working mums have great insights into markets gaps and my experience of running my own business while raising my small son has been that when you're not chained to the computer all day (because you can't be - there's so much else to do!) there is plenty of time for thinking and strategising. This makes the time I do spend at the computer (my main distribution channel and where I capture my blogs and book content) so much more effective. Good on all the mums for giving it a go... and I hope we'll continue to see the rise of mumpreneurs into the future leaders of our businesses and communities.
